How long does cotton candy last? Cotton candy can keep at least two weeks in a tub and one week in a plastic bag, as long as it’s well-sealed and stored at room temperature. Moisture melts cotton candy — exposing the fluff to air shortens its shelf life.
Can I mix two or more flavors? Yes— flavors can be blended together or layered. (Check out our full menu!)
Why is your cotton candy white? We use only natural ingredients — no artificial colors or flavors. We sometimes add a blush of pink or blue with natural food coloring made from hibiscus, raspberries, and blueberries. But natural food dyes can affect the overall flavor, however, so we use it sparingly and only on request.
Is your cotton candy vegan, kosher, gluten-free, or organic? The ingredients in all our cotton candy flavors are gluten-free and most are vegan and kosher, and we use only organic sugar and natural flavors. Note: Some of our toppings are not vegan, kosher, or gluten-free. We’re happy to answer any questions about ingredients, or to provide custom menus to meet any dietary needs.
Is your cotton candy allergen-free? Our flavors do not have any common allergens. Some of our toppings include wheat, eggs, milk, soy, and nuts. If you have any questions, please ask. Note: We operate out of our home kitchen, which is not allergen-free.
Do you offer samples? If you’d like to taste flavors before placing an order, please contact us!
Can I suggest a flavor? Yes! We love new ideas for flavors and toppings. Send us your idea and you just might see it added to the menu.
How did you get into cotton candy, anyway? We were smitten after sampling candy made by a friend of the family in the Twin Cities (Spinning Wylde, teaching a master class on creative cotton candy!). We wanted to bring the fun and joy to our Bay Area community.
Does your jam use organic fruit? All our fruit is unsprayed and pesticide free, and sometimes we use organic fruit. All our fruit comes from farms in and around the Bay Area. Some follow organic practices but are not certified because the time and cost of certification can be cumbersome for small farms.
How long does jam keep? Jam is shelf-stable for at least 1 year from the pack date on the label and is best stored in a cool, dark spot. Once opened, refrigerate the jar and enjoy (or freeze) the jam within three weeks.
Why doesn’t your jam last as long as store-bought jam? Our jam has no added preservatives and uses much less sugar than conventional recipes — generally 50% to 75% less — so you enjoy more fruit flavor. Sugar acts as a preservative, so jams with less sugar don’t keep as long as those with more.
